Directors of Buy1GIVE1:

Masami Sato, Founder

MasamiSato

By taking a completely new look at the power of connection and giving, Masami Sato founded the Buy1GIVE1 transaction-based giving movement in early 2007.

Masami was born in Japan and her desire to expand her horizons at an early age took her on a journey of exploration travelling throughout the world. She travelled to over 25 countries and lived and worked in Canada, New Zealand and Australia before moving to Singapore in 2007. While being a mother of 2 young children, she has also gone through a journey as an entrepreneur.

The original Buy1GIVE1 concept was born through the journey of the food production company she was running with business partner, David Anttony. Giving back became the core of their company and the articulation of that eventually got simplified to “Buy a meal and feed a child” (quite a departure from the conventional “We give profits to charity”). Masami realised this concept of giving was so powerful that they could share it with other businesses to make it even more effective in making a real difference. That is how Buy1GIVE1 — B1G1 — came to the world to connect the entire world through real win-win partnerships.Masami_Radio_interview

Masami is an author of 2 transformational books “JOY ~ The Gift of Acceptance, Trust and Love” and “ONE ~ Sharing the joy of giving”. She is also a public speaker inspiring and educating the public about the power of giving.

Paul Dunn, Chairman

Paul-Dunn-whitebackgroundPaul Dunn is at the forefront of management and marketing action on a global basis. Paul is an engineer by training but he soon discovered people were more interesting than “things”.

He began his career in Australia at Hewlett Packard where he was one of just ten people in the Australian start up of the company. In 1974 Paul wrote some innovative software that became the basis for one of Australia’s early technological successes — Hartley Computer. Until 1980 Paul was the marketing genius behind the company growing globally to a $23 Million enterprise. In 1992 Paul formed Results Accountants’ Systems (RAS) to focus again on Accountants in Public Practice — teaching them how to leverage their skills to create far better businesses for their clients. By 1994 the company had offices in Europe and, most significantly, the USA.  By the year 2000, it was serving over 3500 practices and their clients worldwide.  Amongst many other innovations, Paul developed the Results Accountants’ Network — it became the largest network of leading-edge Accountants.PaulDunnHome

In 2000 he ‘retired’ and sold all his business interests only to discover the transformational power of giving in 2006 by funding an orphanage for Tsunami-affected children in India. That led to his co-discovery of Buy1GIVE1 in 2007.

Paul is leading the corporate and ambassador programs in Buy1GIVE1 team.

David Anttony, Co-founder

DavidAnttonyDavid is an IT specialist and system engineer originally from United Kingdom with a broad experiences and practical knowledge in internet-based business innovation and operation.

David has always been inspired by philanthropic business icons like George Soros who have used the power of business to create positive global change. He imagined Buy1GIVE1 in precisely that sprit. David began coupling that spirit with the entrepreneurial passion in 1995 when he created a magazine publishing company in New Zealand.

Then in 1999 David co-created a business in New Zealand with Masami Sato (another founder of Buy1GIVE1) and began to see how that could be linked with his passion for giving back. So in 2000 he co-created another fine-food business (health food brand that distributed packaged frozen meals to health food chains and supermarkets), which became one of the first examples in the world of true transaction-based giving.

David has looked after the Buy1GIVE1 operations team and system development. Now he also runs a company that provides search engine optimizations (SEO) services to other businesses.
